Caribbean Festival 2022

The Caribbean festival that took place August 28th from downtown Worcester in front of City Hall all the way to Institute Park was a massive event with thousands of people in attendance. With all the mass festivities, music, and entertainment going on we had the pleasure of being joined by several leading members of our community in Worcester in show of support, from members of the arts district , to the Mayor of the City or Worcester Joe Petty. the event went on from 12 pm to 8 pm and had an enormous turn out despite the lack of attendees in the previous festival weeks prior.

We had the chance to speak with several attendees of this event and a common thread for those who participated and attended this event is that we have a lack of not only events that highlight all aspects of the community but a lack as a whole to come together when these opportunities arrive and really connect with one another. In our City we are too used to drama & tragedy to overtake our efforts of building a better community that we fail to have the enthusiasm to fight to build together. events like these are rare for multiple reasons, but a major factor in that is us as a community as well as those in charge and have the power to give us these opportunities. Thankfully this festival was a major success and it highlighted that we have the potential to come together without issue and be supportive and uplifting in one another, and that's the type of movement and energy we should be setting for not only us but the generation taking over.
